Pre-roll on record only in Cubase SX 2

Hi,
I would like to know if there is an option to use pre-roll only when
recording, but not when playing. (This was possible on Cubase VST).

I know I can use pre-count - which will be used only when recording,
but when using pre-count, you can not hear the previous bars (When
recording).

I want to hear the previous bar + clicking when recording, and when
playing, no pre-roll and no pre-count.

Is it possible?

Metronome Setup allows click to be selected during Record and/or Play.
I don't know a way to automatically disable pre-roll for Play only.
But one click on the transport bar toggles it on and off.

how about setting [marker 1] 2 bars before [left locator] and simply use
auto punch-in

to record, with 'pre-roll' play from marker 1
to play, without 'pre-roll' play from left locator

?

You can do that, but it is inconvenient when recording and playing many
parts.
